“Laisser place”: Mathieu Chavaren

From February 3 to 26, 2023, HORS-CADRE presents a solo exhibition by Mathieu Chavaren, in which the artist invites viewers to re-learn how to observe what lies outside the work, thanks to a transitional movement called laisser place. This movement, made possible by the dialogue between two opposing styles, makes forces that sometimes equalize or cancel each other out respond to each other: a question born to truly make way, and Mathieu responds by proposing an installation-performance that will create a correspondence over a long period of time.
